*WIP // DEFUNCT, Read on with that in mind*
-OG POST-
Have your match started by the icon that is MvC 2’s announcer dude. Technically he has 3 different lines in MvC2, but I just used my favorite one to replace the “Ready? Go!” that happens at game start.
See this clip for example (ideally):

How to Install:
Download the mod file, replace in DAT Texture Wizard
File Tree is Audio -> us -> find nr_name-> right click import file
This will rebuild ISO!

Updates:
This was made through taking the audio clips from mvc2 announcer editing them in audacity, and replacing with HSDRAW. Unfortunately, the rebuilt iso ends up being the wrong size. The new nr_name file is 361 kb instead of the 331 kb of the original file, likely due to the added 1.2 seconds of total stored audio. For reference the “Ready?” and “Go!” are .8 and .5 second clips, so theres really no way to crop the mvc2 guy to fit within those constraints.
One way to fix the ISO’s total size issue is using GCR. Open the iso in GCR and dump the root to a folder, then select the root and rebuild. After that the audio mod will be in place and the iso size will be the same as a regular melee. I’ve used this to play with this mod on slippi, but I am not gonna act like I’m anything but a for-fun modder who doesn’t understand exactly what I’m doing when i rebuild like that 😛 so be careful out there.

Cool!
Not working my mans, melee announcer is still there and there is less storage on the iso
Hey I finally caught a chance to check in on this and sorry to hear it didnt work! Fwiw, I just downloaded the mod and applied it to a vanilla iso and the mod did work (also the storage space thing still happened T_T) My only suggestion is to double-triple check you are within the “audio-us” folder when replacing, since there are technically two nr_name.ssm files in the tree. See also my notes about fixing storage space, unfortunately I am but an amateur
was so sad that this didnt work a few months ago, but following this got it to work. thanks a lot
